Modelling the kiwi birds

Following on from their classwork, students made small clay kiwi models.

 

This gave them the opportunity to explore and experiment with a new medium.    



Here are some of the results.

We watched a short animation called "The Lost Thing" adapted from the book written and illustrated by Shaun Tan. http://www.thelostthing.com/

 

Students made drawings and collages of man-made objects and turned them into 'lost things'.

 

Students enlarged their preferred design using chalkes and wax crayon

 

 

             

Students then developed their drawings to make a clay relief tile. Here are some photos of work in progress.
